Why did so many successful entrepreneurs and startups come out of PayPal?
Paypal alumni founded YouTube, LinkedIn, Slide, Yelp, Geni, SpaceX and Kiva.org.
I’m friends with quite a few PayPal alumni and I’m not sure they’d agree with this rosy assessment. I think PayPal was successful because of the people, not the other way around. Online business is also a dice game, but once you’ve won once your odds are much better for winning again.
